Can we talk about the desert?! Honestly, when Zenni approached me with their new desert collection it was literally fate, as I was off to  shoot in the desert for one of my oldest and favorite clients of all time BELL by Alicia Bell.

It's been quite the traveling few months for me; from Anna Maria Island, to Mexico, to Toronto and to Arizona. I love to travel, so no, I'm not complaining. The desert however is much different then what I'm used to. It's so exotic, dangerous (I saw rattle snakes, jumping cacti, yes this is a thing, and scorpions) it's also quite calming, monochromatic and so beautiful. Phoenix was record high hot, I've been to Arizona before but not shooting in 120 degree heat... it was an experience and I survived!

But I digress... back to Zenni. The collection literally arrived on my doorstep five minutes before I was taking off to the airport for my shoot, so how appropriate right? The sunnies are beautiful, picking up all the colors and elements of the sand, cacti and the sun. Remember, Zenni is all about customizing your eyewear. Therefore you can get sunglasses, reading glasses, with or without prescription and for a fraction of the price from designer retailers.

Originally the plan was to shoot the collection once I was in Arizona but shooting in 120 degrees after I've been shooting another model all day, was just not in the books. Fast forward to the incredible cacti green house at the Chicago Botanic Garden and I was back in the dessert, minus the crazy body burning heat.
